Ethernet Switch Replacement
Swlabr Networks produces patent pending Ethernet Switch replacement products. It’s Ring Manager product has the following benefits:
1) It is extremely low power. Typically 2W consumption.
2) The number of subscribers that can be subtended is only limited by the average amount of bandwidth that a service provider or network administrator wants to apportion to each subscriber or end-user.
3) It is low cost.
4) It is small.
5) It uses Power-over-Ethernet technology, making it unnecessary to provide power to the wiring closet.
Swlabr Networks’ technology improves the operation of broadband Ethernet access rings by allowing for an end-user to automatically join and leave the ring. This reduces administrative costs for both network operators and network administrators. Figure 1 depicts how the Ring Manager accomplishes this:
When a user plugs into the RJ45 socket it powers up the Ring Manager. The Ring Manager switches the user into the data paths going around the ring. The low power nature of the Ring Manager and the ability to put the network connection into sleep mode make this a Green Access Technology allowing companies to reduce their carbon footprint while providing improved real-time networking capability.
